Blessings of Liberty was composed in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. When approached by the Vermont Youth Orchestra, I was asked for an uplifting, concert opener. I immediately thought of our U.S. Constitutional Bill of Rights - the Blessings of Liberty. This work was intended to reflect our shared patriotism, particularly the strength and bond shared by all Americans following the attack. *** This work now seems more pertinent than ever.
